Header results, and exhaust temp question

I just installed a pacesetter (I know...) header on my 1990 GXL, my God it's loud! I have an Edelbrock cat back, and at 1500 rpm's or lower it's ok, it sounds like a Harley, but anything over that it was such a sharp crack note, it's so loud the whole car shakes! I even put a functional cat in place to try and quiet it down a bit- not much luck. My engine is ported, and got the little noise controller in the exhaust ports removed... guess thats why!
Anyways, I am thinking about putting another muffler where the cat is, and mys question is, does anyone know what the max Exhaust Gas Temperature would be juts after the header?
Thanks

it gets pretty damn hot... run the car for 10 seconds and feel the headers..., i have that same setup, but from the pacesetters down to a catco cat and back to my n1. i dont see how yours is sooooo loud.. mine is loud but it sounds MEAN.. like a mean lawnmower..LOL.. i would check for leaks between components.. those can contribute to shitty sounding exhaust...

fyi.

Exhaust temps at full throttle can reach 1600 to 2000 degrees F.You'll need a muffler that has stainless steel or ceramic packing not fiberglass.Fiberglass will melt from those temps.
