Head unit suggestions, red display?
Hi Guys, I'm in the market for a new single din stereo, but I'd like to match the display color with the OEM red as close as possible.

I find that JVC makes good quality headunits that sound good and aren't overly shouty. Kenwood is another possibility.
To match your interior lighting, most headunits made today have variable color backlighting. Just be sure to double check that the headunit you're looking to buy has that feature.
One more thing, depending on the year and stereo it was equipped with, you may need to bypass the factory amps. For the GXL, GTU and TurboII, 86-88, each rear speaker had its own amp and the front dash speakers had a 2-channel amp located under the glovebox.
89-91 had a conventional headunit with the amplification inside it.
