Head lights are stuck up!

I was cleaning the inside of my car, cleaning around the head light switch and turned the head light on, then tried to turn them off and they would not go back down, the lights did go off. Then, I pulled the motor retactor fuse and, went to the front of the car and manaully turned the motor retactor **** to bring the head lights down. Once, I got the head lights down I put the fuse back in and, they went right back up Damit!!! anyone have any ideals of what it could be.

Be very careful when fixing the lights. If they come down while your hands are near them, you'll need some surgery!

Also disconnect the battery if you are working on the lights. It takes 1 min.

If not the switch being left up...

Isnt there a fuse under the hood, left side in front of the strut tower for the headlight motors? I know 1stgen has a fuse link in about the same place...

I forget, if so check it... Seems odd if both burn up at the same time.

headlight cleaning pop-up doohicky switch

LOL.... I looked everywhere in the index of my Mazda Shop Manual, and couldn't find a reference to that. Is that the same switch as the headlight middle switch thing a ma bob?

Seriously, i think we're all voting that you probably hit the Manual Headlight Actuator switch while cleaning.

3 car meets ago a 2nd gen owner turned bright red when I hit that switch.

He was like "I can't figure out what's wrong with my headlights". Then - bzzzzz and they went down
