Question have you guys ever heard of this ecu?

http://www.performancemotorresearch.co.nz/

i was looking into it cause my brother is getting one for his 240sx, and i heard and seen one used on a miata using this piggy back ecu to run itbs, and im wondering if any of you guy used it or has seen one used on a rx7?

there is two version of it there is one that just control fuel which i seen corksport sell, and there is a version2 which basicly is a standalone but you keep the stock redline and its still used as a piggy back also you can also elimated the afm ,same as the version1.

The MAP-ECU is a good ECU, but like all piggybacks, it is totally limited by what the stock ECU is willing to do.

For the purposes of tuning an NA for a fun daily driver, it will do the job. You will just have to pay to play.

Not a good choice for a modified turbo car.

I've used the older MAP ECU 1 (the kind you would probably find used). I thought the software was pretty bad. The log viewer was especially hard to use. It is like an e-manage ultimate with less features (remove AFM cannot intercept fuel and timing signals). Since the AFM is not a restriction on a nonturbo car (by my own dyno tuning, i can show you some sheets if you want to see them), there is no point in removing it. And with no injector staging control, there is really no point in getting this. The Rtek 2.1 is a much better choice.

Get the rtek versus that thing. It gives you alot more control over the stock ecu than a piggy back ecu like that
