Ill give my input because it is what I plan to do. If you wanna take the time to tune this car perfect then here u go. I plan to Turbo my N/A and ya some will be like "hey, you...uh member high compression?" well I dont plan on boosting more then 5-10 PSI but 5-10 PSI tuned real well will get you what you want. I am curious to what made u choose that HP mark as you're goal.

So to sum it up.

60+ trim turbo
Manifold
Wastegate
BOV
Oil Lines
PVC piping for charge pipes if your cheap.
Clutch
Drivetrain

that will run you about 2500 if you go with all medium to high quality prices. Who wont be jelous when you got a 1.3 then to top it off you are only running 5-10 pounds of boost.

If someone doesnt like the idea feel free to post. I just bought my first 7 2 days ago and im semi new to rotory, doesnt mean I cant try.

Perfection wouldn't be the term I would use to describe a "cheap" homemade sears hardware built intercooler....

Why does everyone needs a specific # of horsepower, what can you do with 285 that you can't with 250. I just find it odd that soo many people buy an NA and then decide its way too weak and needs all this work?

I had an NA GXL for my first 7 and it was awesome, simply one of the best cars I have ever driven and it was more than fast enough to leave all sorts of cars int he dust, more than enough speed than was ever needed or safely used around where I live. That car only had a K&N intake and headers, no turbo swap or pvc pipes ziptied together.....

Just rock it stock for a while then buy a TII would be my opinion, thats what I did anyway...good luck with your 7.

the only way im keeping this car is if it runs 13s or lower at the 1/4 mile and drifts like i want it to ....im a nissan guy and both of my ka-t cars where in wrecks ....neither wreck was my fault i was at a light for one and came around a corner and the other was struck....so but 285 -325 hp b/c its fast engouh to keep up with lots of guys and its my favorite range for drift specs...its just a personal preference....but im tired of my buddy smokin me in his Z and wanna add some power....besides if you have 1500$ just laying around for your car wouldnt you wanna make it go fast?

Good luck. Take lots of pics and post what you do! I would love to see the work done.

200 HP N/A can be a lot of fun. Though, hard to reach.

well i'm a noob so don't flame me.

if you're gonna buy a t2 motor you will most likely have to rebuild it which would leave you close to nothing for your exhaust
YAY for a noob

that'll do noob, that'll do...haha j/k

but it's true.

i'm not a pro either but I'd agree that 1500 isn't going get you 285-325 whp on either a n/a or a TII swap.

Just throwing money at it, especially from this point of view, doesn't make it go fast. A decent motor and drivetrain, harness, ecu, etc... wil cost 1500 and still should be rebuilt for the troble it worth if it goes kaput after install.

as for exhaust i don't know what your after but i'm kinda eyeing that titanium single from jic, but thats $1000 right there for the cat back.....

for a power adder u could get those little whistle thingys that clip on the end of your exhaust pipe for that ultimate blow off sound and 15hp. i'm just tired ....goodnight..
