Have my car...now what?
Hey, I finally have an RX-7!! Black '89 GXL with a fresh rebuild, streetported, 3mm apex seals, TII rotor housings, Apex'i intake, gutted cats, and a couple other small things. Here's what I have planned for the immediate future: Racing Beat exhaust with HKS mufflers, Corbeau racing seats, Schroth harnesses, DOT4 brake fluid, racing beat sway bar bushings. Any suggestions on these? How much power should I expect with those mods. I've been told to expect ~160 at the wheels right now...that sound about right?
I'll be taking some more pictures this weekend, I hope...

Yo,
Congrats and welcome to the family!
That's a serious NA 13B you've got there, it doesn't seem like you need to do much there. Definitely go with the RB downpipe/presilencer, it'll do much better than gutted cats. Since your motor is pretty hardcore, you might even want to go with the RB headers instead of the downpipe.
I've got the HKS 50mm catback system, and I can vouch that it is a nice subtle looking and sounding system. The new RB NA catback is nice too, lots of bling!
It sounds like all the mods you are planning are sensible, especially the Schroth harnesses. I have them in my Scirocco, and they're great. You getting the Rallye 4's?
I'd throw some stainless brake lines on while you're at it...
Can't wait to see pics!

yeah, like kevin said definately go with the RB header...if there's one thing a streetport needs, its the header. so you still have the stock catback on this car? i'd look into that as well. Racing Beat, Apexi make good systems... www.rx7.com has some of the Apexi single units. i have the N1 and love it

Thanks for the advice. I have found a slightly used RB header, presilencer, and y-pipe for a good price, so I'm going to go with that, and then I'll probably be done modding the engine. One thing I've noticed about driving the car is that it has NO low-end power. Any ideas on how to fix that a bit?
