hats off to racing beat

just got there header installed on my car the header/presilencer and that thing sounds bad ***. I just about **** my pants when I first gunned and went up to 60. there is a big difference on performance and to bad I could not Gtech it.
this header was bought used and that person bought it used so they have some good quality. there are not any leaks in the exhuast at all now. that thing also seems to have dropped a lot of wieght.

I am still using the stock cat back though soon to be replaced by a N1 dual if I ever get the cash. even though I am running a stock muff though I should be able to pump flames right?

this thing is a must if you have an N/A motor.
just the sound alone will make me want to **** my pants everytime I take off even with the stock exhuast.
and damn I left my clean pair of undies at home also.

that was the reaction when i did the same thing to my 87 n/a...you need to get a catback system quickly..it makes a big difference, i dont think you will have flames through the stock mufflers....they are really packed tight with sound deadening crap. i need to get some headers for my 91 n/a i have a race pipe, but im sure headers would make it insane...o well i still beat up on those who need it.

only real problems I have with this setup is my sub division will not be happy with me I have only had it for like 2 hours at most and I already have been getting attention now of the big boys. a 67 camaro. a 69 mustang, few cops, some guy with a blower sticking out his hood, many many many ppl just walking down the road. it is a good attention getter.

also the car does seem to vibrate a little more and I have a new noise that sounds like my pilot bearing. though I have known it was going bad it did not sound this bad before I took it to the shop. also now my idle does not want to go down. it has a bad miss problem right now. hope it is not my timing or a broke seal. oh god I hope not.

EDIT: oh yeah the noise level is not much louder then stock when just cruising around. but you notice the difference when driving down the road. the only other thing I am worried about though is if my 6 ports are opening up but I will check that tomorrow.

if anyone has the money I highly recomend you do this if you are an N/A,oh yeah just for the record mine is an 87 sport.

does anyone know how loud this setup would be with the N1 duals?

ive got a set of pacesetters down to a catco on my vert. the catback im using is the n1 single from apexi. i must say that the sound is very unique and very cool. reasons i went back to using a cat is the low end torque that i get back.

right now it is pretty loud. i would say a lot louder than stock. it grabs tons of attention than stock for sure.

without the cat it is insanely loud and sounds just crazy. goes a LOT faster but torque is a midget. when i put the race pipe in, which is a solid 2.5 in diameter instead of the 2.25 catco cat you see a HUGE increase on the freeway at high rpms. im hoping to get a hi flow cat from bonez so i can have the best of both worlds and keep my emmisions acceptable.

Did you have clogged cats ?

I didn't. I noticed a difference above 3k RPMs, it accellerates so much easier now. I still have the stock cat-back, inside the car you can't tell, but if you get someone to drive the car around the block and you are outside listening; it sounds tinny, like metal... Therefore, I will replace the Y-pipe with a straight pipe to a new aftermarket muffler

The N1 is going to be pretty loud with the header. I have even heard of the RB catback being loud with the header/presilencer and the RB system is supposed to be one of the quietest. I hope to have a complete RB exhaust sometime (maybe next years tax return ). Thanks for the post though, any input on the RB header/presilencer is good in my book.

GRRRR ....
I have the friggin PaceSetter lawnmower/cahinsaw headers to a gutted cat and stock cat-back. Sounds way toooo ricey, people say it sounds like a ******* go-kart.... But hte power gains overall are pretty good.

BTW how does this compare to the RB headers (powerwise)??

well i didnt have the RB header, but i did have a pace setter hooked up to a 2.5" test pipe with 2.5" straight to the rear, no mufflers needless to say it was very loud and sounded freaking awesome, that car also ran a 14.7 1/4, but got wrecked i had taken it to the max on the speedo before and it was great
