Question Hatch cover install: What do I need/what am I missing?

Well I have been holding onto this hatch cover I picked up a few months ago but never really got around to installing it until now.

Here are some pics

Here are picture of my current speaker covers:

I have done a search and have come to the conclusion that I am missing some parts (*****, brackets, wrong speaker covers, etc...)

The hatch cover wont hold itself up and folds like shady business. I was thinking of fabbing up some brackets but wanted some suggestions. Thanks guys.

Hmm... from your pictures it looks like the Series IV hatch cover / cargo cover / luggage cover is a bit different than my Series V.

I bought an OEM new S5 hatch cover and it came with:
- built in snaps (snaps to carpet behind the seats)
- built in hinges (rear speakers covers are different - they have hinge holes & a stopper-lip on them. The S5 holes are in the CENTER of speaker covers, not towards the front like in the pics above.)
- string hangers
- hatch door hooks

BTW - I think Mazda only offers the S5 cargo covers now.

Yea thanks for the pix. I have seen those before. This small project keeps getting pushed down the list of things to do.

I am pretty sure that is the S4 cargo cover. You will be able to use your speaker covers but you will need the plastic pieces that accomadates the cover's rod. I am sure you will be able to find them without replacing the entire speaker cover.

Here is a pick of an example.

Hope this helps
