Q. Are RPMC engines new engines?

A. Yes. RPMC engines are entirely new engines. No rebuilt, remanufactured, or overhauled parts are used in our engines. All engine blocks are assembled in Japan, by Mazda Corporation. RPMC manufactures and/or assembles all other components at our Glen Cove, NY facility. Every engine is run-in on a Superflow dynamometer to ensure that all systems perform flawlessly before the engine leaves the factory.

How are they pulling this off?

Hello Joe:

Thank you for your interest in Rotary Power Marine Corporation products. For more information, please visit our "detailed" website at www.rotarypowermarine.com.

Our marine engines are based on 13B blocks built to our specifications by Mazda in Japan. They are all brand new engines, not rebuilds, remans, or take-outs. The configuration is not identical to any automotive block because there are a number of features that we require for marine applications. The specific configuration is assembled from all production parts, but some combinations were never offered together for any production automotive application.

We do not sell bare blocks, only fully-assembled marine engines. What application did you have in mind, perhaps we can provide a turn-key solution?

Sincerely,
Jonathan Lauter

Seems odd that they wouldn't be willing to supply the automotive community with brand new short blocks.

You can bet a lot of people would buy them if they'd sell them to us.
