of course people have blown their engines while using alcohol injection. if your tune is wrong it does not matter what fuel/AI you are using it is still going to blow. hell, if your ai pump dies when you are in the boost bye bye motor.

I mean barring tune errors or the setup failing.
i have a frend who is installing his new turbo motor, and ive heard alot of good things about AI and wanted to see if its something he might want to try, this is his 3rd engine.

Read the AI subforum here on rx7club. Yes, several people have blown their engines using AI. The main culprit there is that they are using it (meth) as fuel to make more power, rather than a safeguard against detonation. If the AI system fails, you blow it. This is good tuning aside of course.

Is it worth it? Well, I sure as heck like running 20psi on pump a lot better than 15psi all on pump (plus water now, no longer meth). Not needing race gas for big power is great. He should pick a system up.

Might try running E-85 alone. You'd need either larger injectors or a fuel controller like RTEK2.1 to richen the fuel up. But I believe you'll get a higher octane rating doing that. E-85 stations are still few and far inbetween.

yeah several people have blown engines on AI.

usually they are experimenting, AND using meth as a fuel.

if you run a normal gas setup, and say use a little water to keep it from detonating seems to be really effective.

E85 looks like a turbo wunderfuel, if you have it available
