I have done a few. The instructions in the Mazda service manual are fairly complete. I've been buying my tops from A.A. Best ( http://aabestco.com/ ) I prefer their colth tops as they look nice and you don't have to worry about them becomming brittle.

I did my sisters mustang top, if you have directoins it is fairly simple, time consuming your first time, but simple

iluvmyrx7.com i believe thats where you can find the Factory Service Manual

i looked real good at it .. and then i got a pro to do it ..
I'm figured i might cut the hole for the window to large or just pull it to hard when the top part is streched over the frame ....

I replaced my top on my 88 vert, it was a royal pain in the ***. It took me a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggg ggggggg time to do it. There is a metal strip/bar that runs inside the top around where it connects to the body of the car, mine was rusted to dust and I haven't been able to find a replacement.
It's not really that hard, just frustrating because you dont want to destroy your $300 top cuz you're a poor college kid.
There is a write-up on replacing the top floating around somewhere, but it's not on these forums. If you search around on here, someone linked to it...all I know is that it was on a purple 7 that had a v8 swap and the guy who did it was named Jason.
If you don't feel comfortable working on the top yourself, i'd suggest taking it to a professional (or someone who has done it before).
Also, my AA top didn't fit all that great, it was the vinyl top.
