Hard time starting

Sometimes when I turn the key the car will lose all power. Everything dies. I pop the hood give the positve batter cable a good twist and the car has power again. The I try to start it again and it dies out. Now normaly when it does this I need to play with the cable 8 or 9 times but as long as I don't give up I normaly get it started again. Does this sound like a short in the cable? Should I just get it replaced? What do you all think?

Get a multimeter, check the resistances along the battery terminal until you find a high resistance. But I'd just get a new terminal and be done with it.

sounds just like a bad connection issue at the terminals... you say you give it a twist and it starts up... yeah check your connections and use a multimeter to read battery voltage and check what its charging at
