Hard starts... still great driving...

Car is flooding I believe at every startup. Step on the pedal to get it moving, then it takes 10 secs or so for it to start running normally and sounding good.

I put fuel injector cleaner in the tank and it doesn't seem to be helping... I have a funny feeling that one of the seals are sticking and then pops back out after the motor gets going and builds up a little bit of heat.

Any ideas to what it might be or what I could do to fix it? Should I try ATF?? I'm not sure what to do at this moment, this is one of our daily drivers. Started happening a day after AutoX'n it.

thanks.

Alrite, so an update on what's happening with this car. Maybe someone can offer some advice for a temporary fix.

When I start it up, I almost have to keep it wide open. Once it starts, it's extremely rough and unsmooth until I rev it up a bit, then it pops a lil bit and goes back to sounding normal.

Upon starting it like this I get a ploom of white smoke that smells like coolant. Rather than believing the motor is flooding (with fuel), I believe it is flooding with coolant. Once I get it all out of the housing, the car runs great. As if whatever seal has gone, suddenly closes up.

Al my starts are like this.

Can anyone think of a good temporary fix? I'm in the hunt for another motor, but for the time being I need to keep it going.

Well try this, when the motor is cold, take out the radiator cap. Crank it up and start it. If yuo see water gushing out along with air bumbles.. your coolant seeal took a dump. Also have you noticed the water level droping?

Those intank fuel cleaners don't do much, take the injectors out and get them cleaned professionaly. Most desiel shops can do it. You try to band aid with a fuel cut switch also.

You can try using the block weld for coolant leaks, I believe Kevin Lander has a write up on his site. Pretty much add to bottles of block weld, drive a day.. flush and hope it fixed it.

Well good luck.

I know that I'm losing alot of coolant, and when I was trying to start my car last night and it flooded, I heard the fluid in the overflow tank bubbling.

I pulled the lid so that the air could escape faster. I've been having to put coolant in it pretty constantly.

Is it possible that I'm losing my compression through my coolant seal, but it's closing itself back up once the car gets going? This pisses me off, because other than this, the car runs beautifully.

Thanks train
