Hard to start

Hey guys,

my car seems to have a problem, it takes ages to crank, but once it starts it struggles a bit, some times after a few days of not starting and when i start it, it starts then stalls, but after i try to start it again, it goes nicely.

and then after starting it and trying to start again, it starts pretty much instantley.

can anyone figure out the problem ?

i already changed the sparks.

The battery may be getting drained from the constant cranking but it's probably not the root problem.
I would suspect low compression/leaky injectors first.

Possible water thermosensor problem or lack of the Start signal to the ECU are two possibilities that come to mind.

Has the starter wiring ever been altered on this car? Is the two wire, green in color sensor on the BACK of the water pump HOUSING connected to the sensor. You might pull it off and look into the elect plug to see if one of the two contacts inside the harness plug have been "pushed back" and not making contact with the sensor.

A cold engine RX depends on the water thermosensor output.............ECU seeing the Start signal ..............rpms under 500rpm.

yea my na does that but it dies a few times before it will catch rpm and stay going unless i hold the gas pedal a little bit. im deciding whether i should buy new injectors or not. the engine was brand new less than 10k ago but im shure the old owner took the good injectors and put his old ones on this block since he couldnt get the wiring right to start it.

It sounds like your battery is cranking your engine really good.

I have always been told that on all fuel injected vehicles you should get in the car turn the to the "ON" position, wait 10 seconds then start the car. This allows the fuel system to "prime" before starting.

When was the last time you changed your fuel filter?
Have you ever had your injectors serviced?
Have you checked your thermo sensor like Hailers suggested?
