Hard Gear change cold morning?

When driving on a cold moring it seems to take about an hour before I can change gears smoothly, I reaaly have to push it into gear up to about fifth. Has anyone come accross this before and know how to fix it?

Yup, switch to a thinner gear oil, someone probably put like 120 in there.

It seems to happen when cold out. I don't know what oil is in mine at the moment but I remember it being like that when it was cold.

Put synthetic (Red Line) in there, it will help quite a bit. Back in '87 Mazda was actually recommending dealers put ATF in the trans because of the hard shifting when cold. Not too unbelievable knowing Mazda!
