Happy to have S4 Alive...

Despite lack of any kind of legal compliance of vehicle or driver - My '88 S4 Mostly Stock GTU immediatly started & idled/warmed up perfectly normal...

After many, many minutes of Deep Contemplation of Smokes, Beers, Bowls & Potential Blue Lights in my alerted neighborhood alternated with Deep Full Throttle Revs.

Liberating the Seals with OMP Pulses followed by calm periods of idleing away peacefully as the Zika Mosquitoes Die from OMP Fogging along the Twin Roads that flank the neighborhood Canal on Both Sides...

A Perfect Drag Strip for Exercising my Patiently Forgiving S4 GTU...

The R&B True Dual Exhaust denotes the Lubricatious Nature of the OMP's Caprious Workings & Reveals the "Lamentations" of the Rotary Dilemna...

Why Oh Why have the Gods Forsakened the Mighty Uhuru-Mazda? The Writing is on the Wall for All to See!

Oh OMP! Greater Control of Thee I See! Perhaps Mercury QuickSilver & 3 Jets for All the Seals to See! Un-Chained from Rpm - Listening to Brain I Am - Make Rotary Reliable Again!

The Apex Seal Springs Were Completely Lame... S6 Changed the Game...

Really... Have you seen those little curls of wire for springs? That area gets clogged & then you're on your way to Lame-ville.

The Failings are Obvious... Never the Less... I made it twice around the block with 1 really good 2nd gear pull... Despite my deleted air control valve & zero 5th-6th port activation... I Really, Really Enjoyed It!

By the Time I got everything covered up & cooled down the Blue Lights were Flashing down the Street... Some normal person just getting Hassled in the name of "Doing Something"... Could've been me...

I went to see the Old Man years ago a few times... He showed me the 20B & FD Intake Mods he was working on & I showed him my NA weird stuff... He opened an old dis-used door & showed me his Pride of Pictures & Trophies...

Some various kids had Hustled the Local Mustang Boys with rigged street races against Turbo-nitrous Fc's until some kid blew a shift & lost... The Old Man replaced the short shifter with a stock one & went back out the next week & had Proper Vengence Himself... but the Local PD decided enough was enough...

When I got my GTU I drove the 30 miles distance to see the old man twice... He was never there, but a few lonely 7's were outside... Suggesting that it was a Time for Patience...

I've Observed that the Development Time Required from Conception to Proto-type to Production has significantly Altered over the last 100 years as a Narrowing Algorythym...

We are Now at about 2 years & closing in on 1 year from Start to Go... That Is the Promise! Improvement Intensifies Generational Development Divided by Time of the Cylce of Evaluation & Control.

I'm Happy! Yes the Rotary Can! No Worries! Kumbaya & All That Too! RX-7 Heaven $ Me & U! Is it Beer-30?

Just figured the saturn forum would be better suited to attempt poetic nonsense.

This is the second gen technical forum. Which one of your posts, any of recent, meets this description?

Well, there's that whole birth defect problem, which many consider to be an "ill effect".

i suppose so, but more than half this state is grey haired cave dwellers anyways.

and it only applies to women, so i guess 99.9% of this forum population is safe.

Maybe I'll put my Air-Control Valve & Port Actuators back on today... Perhaps if I Pray Hard Enough my 5th & 6th Ports will work... I had just removed that stuff when I slapped my RB Exhaust on...

I think if I just make a block-off plate for the split-air and put the air-pump belt back on I might get the whole air-system working instead of Deleted...

Its just a cover up by the media. Government of brazil started spraying a pesticide, comes with horrible side effects, yada yada yada, the virus becomes the scapegoat.
You know, typical government stuff

Yikes.

So, the government- which is incapable of doing anything right except for pulling off massive cover-ups, apparently- and the media- who's endgame is a total mystery- have teamed up to do what, exactly?

well, they sure did their job in making whatever it is a mystery. but showing us how many countries we are sending the CDC to in order to watch this mystery virus, which the only side effect seems to be birth defects, which can happen because of just about anything these days.

Ummm your right, the government is for the people by the people ......they would never do anything crazy or out of line. (http://wariscrime.com/new/the-13-most-evil-us-government-human-experiments/)

Anyhow, its better than believing that some virus is suddenly running amok, when its been there for like 30 years... i mean, the commom cold isnt suddenly killing everybody is it?

Seems that Zika did actually start out in Primates in Africa. Scientists carried it out accidently... Who Else Molests Monkeys in Africa for a Living? Explorers & Scientists have Destroyed more than They've Ever Discovered...

I discovered that my Air-pump was bad & also 1 actuator... Still have a lazy front actuator... I swapped out a couple & blew air through the port... I think the cross-over tube might be compromised. It has some corrosion issues...

I managed to find everything I needed in my Attic Bone-yard - I should have another metal line for the actuators lurking somewhere...

The Problem seems to have been caused by "Someone who is Not Me" that put a Turbo Hood on an NA. It looks like there was some minor collision damage & crappy touch up paint job - So maybe that's where the Turbo Hood came from. Anyway... the water coming in the open scoop certainly does No Good for some of the engine components... The Air-pump & actuator failures from Steam off the Hot Exhaust might be a possible Mode of Failure.

Perhaps I'll put my Black Aluminum NA Hood on there instead? That Steel Turbo Hood is such a Boat Anchor... I swear I can feel it slow me down... Sitting on my chest like an oppressive Big Brother demonstrating the Chinese Typewriter Torture.

Anyway... My project came together with a few things to finish up tomorrow. I could see the rear port actuator working very freely just revving the motor... The idle did start hunting & it took a while to get situated, but with a slight turn on the idle-air screw, I got the BAC to calm down & held a very nice 700 rpm idle.

I got West Nile a decade or so ago at least... Not ill enough for a doctor, but felt crappy enough to be worthless at work... It was Lame... 5 days & over... I've had worse First Dates.

Look out for the ChikunGunya Virus from Mosquitoes as well if in the Caribbean - that one attacks your joints with wracking pain spasms that can be a permanent effect... Not Kidding!

As I suspected... The 5th-6th port activation air tube cross-over metal tube thingy was compromised by corrosion. The Bone Yard came up empty this morning looking for my spare S4 lower intake or a spare x-tube.

Not to Worry... The Rotary Gods gave me a Vision of a Fix when I woke this morning...

I just cut out the center section of the x-tube & flip each one 180 deg. & use a tee-fitting & a rubber hose to route the line ABOVE the Exhaust manifold.

I can Speculate why Mazda changed this arrangement for the S5 - as a Heat Problem for the Air System causing Failure. I'm gonna bet the Air-Solenoid is Steamed like a Opened Clam... I have spares... It also interesting to see the S5 Actuators work in an opposite manner with their own external supply tubes vs. the S4-through the lower-manifold arrangement.

Just have to put a slight flange on the cut air tubes before putting them back in flipped around.

Happy Day!

could just be carbon in the banjos to LIM, i see that often enough as well, along with the brake booster port.

My little fix worked great. The actuators are no longer opening at just Free-Rev & the lines flipped around nicely on install. Banjo bolts were clear. The center x-tube thing was clearly half-clogged.

I blew quite a bit of comp. air to clear the rest a little. I think the valving might be working properly. I'll paint some anti-sneeze on the actuator rods & run around the block to know for sure.

Looks like a few other diaphram-type components have been Clam-Baked as well. Scaly Rust-Corrosion...

I changed out that Steel Turbo Hood Boat Anchor for Sweet Aluminum... Washed the Cobwebs off & Parked on the back 40 with the Cover Back On...

Aaargh! Perhaps I can find some Desperate Soul on the Treasure Coast in Florida that will Trade Me A Turbohood for a Moon-Roof?

It seems "someone" Lost 2 shiny copper rings in the driveway... Uh-Oh Chongo! Stop Playing Squirrel Kong! Get Out There & See What Else You Forgot!

Chongo! Did you get the Perfect Undertrays from the Bone Yard this Morning Like I Asked U 2? Did You put them on? Grr... Well Chongo... Go Play some Squirrel Kong... I'll put these Brass Rings back in the Banjo Bolts where they belong Tomorrow... It was My Fault... I'm Sorry I Yelled at You Chongo... Have some Peanuts...
