hand held tachometer readings
I have an older hand held tachometer that has two scales on it. One scale is for 6 cyclinders and the other scale is for 8 cylinders. I imagine most tachs are setup like this. Can I use this on my 86 NA? Like what scale would I use? Double the 8 cylinder scale or what? Or do I need a different tach?

Is this a really stupid question........... or maybe nobody actually knows how to read the gauge.
Since the 7 has four plugs, I quess it would fire just like a piston driven 4 cylinder, right? Wrong?

i dont beleive it would work.. i think you are going to need one for a 4 cyclinder engine and hook it up to the leading coil.. ( there is a black female connector already on the coil pack that you can use, thats what i used when i was using a aftermarket tach.)

is this true? Can I use that black wire for singal on a hand held tachometer? When I removed my cruise control there was a wire running to that black wire on/near the leading coil.
