Half bridge N/A

So here's the scoop. The N/A motor in my '89 GXL is still running strong. Adding up the costs of a turbo swap means I'm better off buying a TII. But there are tons of TII's. Plus after driving TII's I prefer the response of a N/A. I do plan on buying a FD in a couple years so if I'm going to go gung ho fast I'll go with an FD. But I estimated a half bridge with a new ECU and bigger fuel pump won't run me a whole lot. So My questions are: Will the S5 N/A injectors be sufficient for 220hp? Also what about a TII fuel pump? I already have a TII drivetrain and plan on installing 4.30 rear gears. And I have a lightwieght flywheel, intake, exhaust etc. Can I get 220hp (flywheel) out of a half bridge, 2.5" straight piped exhaust, cone filter, TII fuel pump, and a new computer?

You should be fine on the stock NA fuel system, depending on what "new computer" means. You MAY have to look into larger secondaries if you find you're running out of fuel.

Well along the lines of a Haltech E6K or a microtech LT-8. Unless a piggy back will be sufficient enough. Also wondering if more work will need to be done to set a 9k-10k redline. I'll rebuild first of course.

If you are sticking with the NA, then go with the Haltech. It allows you to set more adjustment points in vacuum, while the LT-8 only gives you one ever 5".

In theory, stock internals should be fine to 10K or so as long as it's not constant (as we know, the S5 already redlines at 9K). At the very least, you will want to run 100 PSI oil pressure, make sure your front cover o-ring is proper, do the Weber jet mod to the eccentric oil jets, and grab a set of underdrive pullies.

If you are planning on revving that high, I believe the stock intake begins to become a restriction, especially with a bridge.

I thought that a Bridge lacked low end power as well and only made high end power. So what lack of response were you feeling on the TII. Were you driving a TII with a huge turbo or something b/c even the T-04 can make gobs of power and has very little lag. I am not trying to flame you or anything...just asking a question.

Half bridges aren't supposed to be as bad as a full bridge. Just I want the rpm's to jump as soon as I hit the pedal. As far as intake goes. A friend of mine had like a chemical polish done to his. It was super smooth and he said it made a nice difference. Would I have to mode my throttle body at all? Or would just a smoothing out the bore in the manifold be enough? I want my motor to be as legit as possible (as far as ghetto rigging. Screw laws) and driveable. I drive about 9k miles a year on the car and I don't plan on driving any less.

I had my TB internally ported an polished on my Aggressive streetported N/A....it layed down 183rwhp. But yeah when I got the TB ported and polished I noticed a difference...and I also noticed a difference with the Intake Manifolds ported and polished.
