hahaaaa another clutch help thread (searched already)

Yeah so like it says, this is the first time I've ran into a problem like this. When I searched (and trust me, I tried a lot of combinations of words) a lot of helpful but no definite answer came up, and too much of the of the answers were scattered around.. So I'm just asking for real and simple help directly.

Problem: my car starts fine, but I noticed that the clutch pedal was ridiculously loose, but it didn't stick. It won't shift into gears so I had no choice but to push it to a sidewalk about 3 blocks away from my house.

I was planning on taking it to some shop, like 1 block away, but they don't look very well and specialize in European cars.. So I don't want to get gyped to get things "fixed" that doesn't need fixing.. can someone lead me into the right direction?

No idea about the clutch or transmission, so details would be helpful. Thanks.

Sounds like hydrolics. Check for any leaks and maybe rebleed the system. Even look inside the car under the dash for a leak where the master cylinder goes through the firewall. Look at the fluid level of the master cylinder, it shouldn't drop or lose fluid.

If your hydrolics are ok then you might have to pop the tranny off and inspect the fork, ball joint, throw out bearing, clutch.

Damn that sounds like a bitch... So will rebleeding fix the problem if it's the hydrolics?
