Had a Nitrous explosion in the throttle body. Having issues-help.
So, My buddy and I were working on hsi Rx-7 today, and we decided to throw my old nitrous kit on it. We got it all set up, and I thought it learned the tps voltages, but it didnt and it flashed okay, so we opened the bottle and started the car and armed the system, well it sprayed too much right away and stalled the car. We closed the bottle bakc up and purged the line and let the car sit for a minute then he cranked it to start it and clear the intake, needless to say, as soon as he cranked it, the whole thing blew up. It blew all the vacuum lines off and blew the intake tube off the throttle body, so now we need to get a new tueb to throttle body piece, and put all the vacuum lines in.
It started to get dark, so we took the setup back out quick, and I put as many vacuum lines back on as I could see.
The car starts now, but wont run by itself, we have to hold the pedal the keep it going. Im guessing I missed a bunch of vacuum lines, and we need to re-attach the intake tube and level out the AFM.
I just wanted to ask anyone that might know if you think we did any serious damage to the throttle body or any components.
I'm just debating if we should try to fix the problem, or just get a whole used manifold setup w/ the rats nest and everything and replace it all.
The car is a project car so fixing it Asap isnt an issue.
Thanks guys, it feels good to post hear again after abotu a year and six months of not having an FC.

Sounds like a typical nitrous backfire.... usually just blows off the intake tube and the vacuum lines if the fogger is located in the intake tube. Make sure you cheack the plastic elbow for cracks... it always takes the brunt of it.
Other than that... serious damager will usually occur in the intake track, with damager spark plugs and cracked runners being the next most likely problems.
Next time you try to clear the engine by cranking, disconnect the spark plug leads
A proper nitrous installation and use and this kind of problem is not an issue.
