had my 88 vert a week and the trouble starts...

My 88 vert is acting up when i start it. If it sits for long periods of time it will slowly wind up to a crank then crank a while then eventually start but i keep they key turned for like up to 30 seconds. any clue what this is? also i'm starting to notice a slight "burp" in the exhaust @ idle. its very subtle but wasn't there b4. what should i do? thanks!

for the slow crank:
more than likely a bad battery or battery connections (including both grounds and pos).

or possibly a bad starter.

Not sure what exactly you mean about the burp

sounds like starter...
if you get some where and it won't start...
tap (hard) on the starter with a hammer,etc...
better start looking for one...

that is if all your wiring etc.. is aok

ok now it won't start at all. sometimes the ignition will turn but not all the way and other times nothing happens except my electricals come on. Also while i'm doin this if i try to roll up my window it is very slow and my radio cuts out as if to give power to roll up the window. I'm gonna replace the starter hopefully 2moro and spark plugs also (if i can get it to turn on once more) anything else i should do???

Replace the battery. Have your alternator tested. Ignore the "burble" that's pretty much normal. (a tuneup might help...)

Remember on the 'verts if the trunk pin is slightly out of alignment, it is real easy to think the truck is closed, and have the trunk light still on. This will drain the battery down in a couple of days.

There is no indicator on the 88 'verts for the trunk being "ajar", but closed like there is on the Coupes.
