H E L P

hello to all, here's the deal just bought a 91na. the guy said the motor was shot and he had tried the atf trick and that didn't work. i took all the plugs spun it several times to get all the atf out then put in new plugs and pulled it off to start. it runs but very badly. after all the atf burned off it didn't smoke anymore. the oil pressure is good and the water temp runs at halfway. it won't run if i let it go under 3000rpm,it stumbles then dies and won't restart. it is very slow to accelerate when it is running above 3k. what do you think ??? thanks. PEACE exx

check for vacuum leaks if it wont hold an idle and check the connection to the AFM and make sure it is secure and the plug is not disconnected. You might also want to change the oil after doing unflooding procedures with the ATF.

Get a compression test done before you waste anymore time and money trying to fix a problem you can't fix without a rebuild.

I'm pretty sure the comperssion is good the way it pulls of takes a lot to turn the engine over and it really spit the atf out big time, i will put a check on it and let you know what the numbers are. till i get a comperssion check is there anything else you can think of thanks Exx

Easy. Some people here don't like the word H E L P to be included or to act soley as a topic header.

It's a well known fact that when the word: H E L P is written in all capital letters and spaced just right, this causes siezures in the Rx7forums' population who are suseptable to "type A" personality dispostition.

They are tired of this very volitale and life threatening word such as: H E L P. Or "Please help" etc.

So keep it down, and be cool. After all, You should know everything there is to know about Rx7's before coming to this forum to discuss things you might not know anything about.

Do a compression test. If that checks out, look at doing a COMPLETE tune up, and checking for vacuum leaks. Clogged cats are also a possibility, but don't assume as it is a relativly rare problem.

in case compression is OK, first thing i would check will be ignition (timing, spark plugs, spark plug cables.....testing if each wire is firing etc..)

thanks to all of you who responded to my post " H E L P " . either positive or negative , when i first found this site i thought it was for people like myself who loved their rx's and wanted to learn all they could about them without starting a flame war or being made fun of for asking any question about them . but it is quite obvious that there is here as in life that there are those certain types of persons who have nothing better to do than find fault . makes you wonder what type of life they have if any at all . SORRY to all that help offended or got their panties in a bunch. i will refrain from using H E L P in the future. PEACE exx

Screw that.

Your next topic header should read something like this:

HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP.

Perhaps it will kill off all the High Maintenance Bitches around here.
