GXL Rear End Into a Turbo 2
GXL Rear End Into a Turbo 2
Yeah i have heard of people switching the rear ends out for turbo 2 rear ends. im gonna buy my old rx7 back and the guy took the rear end out, and i have 3 gxl rear ends, can i bolt a gxl rear end into a turbo 2 to move it. thanks shaunb
only if you install a custom driveshaft to get the right length with the smaller flange. Or you could remove the drive shaft, install the rear end, push the car wherever, and remove again.

The halfshaft flanges are also different. You're looking at a good piece o' work.
What's wrong with the diff that's currently in the car? Or is that the problem - someone took the diff out?

im not gonna leave the gxl rear end in, its just temporary to move the car to my house by a tow truck. but it will bolt in and i can just leave the drive shaft out and move it right. thanks shaunb
If you just need to roll the car, you don't need a diff in at all.
Tow it with a flat bed tow truck ALWAYS - our cars are too low to tow with a pull-behind. If you're looking to ghetto tow it with a tow rope (which I've done many times
that's another story.
I'm assuming there is no diff in the car, but the driveshaft and halfshafts are in the car? Yes?

you can use the rear end... iv got a t2 tranny hooked up to a gxl rear end.
you just need to extend the bolt pattern on the flange. its fairly easy and was done in about an hour or so.
had no problems at all.
