guess what I found!!!

I found a Ford part (eewww) on my car. I pulled the instument bezel off to do some messing around with the headlights and found a Ford box in there. I almost pulled it out. I didn't look to see what it was connected to (it was about 11:00 and dark). Just figured I'd share.

BTW, does anyone know what wire is fofr the fog lights coming out of the s5 switch? They are supposed to come on with the headlights.

The 90-91 SRS systems are built by Ford. What model and year do you have?

I would go to the fog light switch connector with a VOM to see which pin was energized when the headlights were on.

my foglight switch is inside my headlight switch. so, most of the wires are hot when the headlights are on.

btw, it's on a vert. Mark, you don't know of a vert FSM laying around anywhere...?

The FSM that I have says that there is a separate switch but I don't have one.

According to the factory wiring manual for the 91 the fog light switch on the convertible is in the center consol. I would bet however that it is just a jumper if there is not a switch there and that the fog lights would then come on with the headlights.

Mazda has been using Ford parts for a long time, just like Ford has been using Mazda parts for a long time. I had a 1991 Capri that was 75% Mazda parts. Someone told me it was the same platform as the 323.

Doesn't Ford own 47% of Mazda? Anyway, they have been in bed together for a while. The Ford Explorer and the Mazda Navajo are the same vehicle with different names. The Ford Escort (not the little squatty box type, but the newer ones) is the same chassis as a Mazda Protege, but the escort has a different engine, tranny and body. There's a bunch of other cars that share the same parts between the two companies.

I personally have thought that the small new Land Rover is the same as these basically too.

42% last I heard...

And the Exploder/Navajo is hardly old news.

Try the old for Courier Pick-up which was a Mazda built Ford sold product and basically a REPU with a 4 cyl.

Of course most of you are too young to even know what a Ford Courier pick up was.

And how about the Ford Festiva, or the Aspire, both Mazda/Kia built for Ford... did you know Mazda owns part of Kia???

Forum rules state that there will be no flaming of other cars. This includes name calling, such as "honduh", or "rustang" etc..

Consider this your 1st warning...

mearly a typo, not a flaming... Flaming would be owning one that didn't have the fuel line recall performed.
