Oh, of course- That makes perfect sense.
Whenever I race I only give it half throttle- MUCH faster than full throttle!

I hope you ment 5th gear @ 190 MPH and not 4th.

I have gone 145 in 5th gear and it was at about 5,600 RPM or so. Don't remember exactly. 101 freeway is a little bouncy. I bet the Turbo II could max out at 160-170.

That 190 would be in km/h, not mph...

Car and Driver, 1987 Turbo II 145mph @ 6350rpm 5th gear top speed....don't have a scan of the article but I"m sure someone on the forum does

I prove you wrong almost every night. I have a K&N air filter and no cats, but i can accelerate (slowly) in 5th after i redline 4th.

yeah. Me too. 89+ lightweight rotors have killer pickup. + a streetport helps alot also. yep, I love boost!

Yeah. I think that info probably is a bit of a reach http://home.rmci.net/panther/rx7specs.htm I should not have pasted it, except that that site does have some good info on it if you leave off the /rx7specsl.htm part of the url. And the reference about bikes drifting, just watch SpeedVision and motorcycle racing sometime. Unreal what some people will do on a bike.
