Angry Guess that hose!

Well, I was putting my car back together and was tightening my fuel rail when I noticed that a grommet had fallen off..... Soo, found it then tried picking it up. After that my mom came over and I looked up to see her, dropping the grommet and losing it. I tried finding it and was taking my bottom fuel rail off when my injector caught this hose and broke it.......what a real pisser......oh well, I should of known things werent going to be so simple..

Here is the hose:

Anyone know where to pick one up? Napa? Mazdatrix?

Alot of people make their own. Search OMP lines and you could probably find alot of info. I blocked off the omp and removed the injectors on my coupe and began premixing. I am gonna do the same on my vert b/c I dont know if the OMP is working properly b/c I have no pressure, so I have been premixing.

spider you can find it at mazdatrix here is the link
http://www.mazdatrix.com/c-5.htm
cost is $42

If you are not going to premix then you should replace them $42 < new engine.
these keep your apex seals lubricated.

what are you guys talking about? the broken line is a simple vacuum hose that pulls air from the throttle body plates, you can just replace that one hose or all of them on that spider with bulk vacuum line from any auto parts store.

You know if one was that hard they all are. You should replace all your brittle vacuum lines as it will save you many headaches down the road.

yes they should be relatively soft and pliable but they get brittle with age and heat.

sometimes it is better to leave sleeping lions be, the spider is plastic and sometimes trying to pull the hardened lines off can break it.

Yea, I plan a complete rebuild within 10k. Thats how much Im given her, but I would not be surprised if I saw 20k more. During the rebuild all hoses and tubes ect will get replaced.

Well after talking with other members and looking at how hard it would be, not very at all, I am going to replace all of the spider vac hoses.....

Oh and good news! Today I found the grommet....Oh and bad news!! I also found that the spider vac hose that cracked, the omp thing it connects to....well the orangish small omp line that connects down to the engine is snapped in half right at the banjo bolt......are these a b!tch to replace? With my luck, I am probably going to break more by trying to replace one....
My main concern is be able to take out the little thing the omp line connects to...Read the OMP Line replacement thread, might as well do that mod. I'll update at a later date(probably 4weeks, unless I get a second job).....
