Guages install questions
My car came with two autometer gauges that aren't hooked up. They are a little scratched/dented but I still have them so why not use them. One is a boost gauge that came with a hard clear/white plastic line that has a screw mech. to attach to the back. I know it isn't long enough to reach the engine bay where it needs to go, so I was wondering if I could use vaccuum line somehow.
I also have a coolant temp gauge, but it came with nothing. What all would I need to hook that up...there are three posts on the back for wires to be attached, but would they all go to a temp sensor on the water pump or what? I haven't ever hooked a temp sensor up so I don't know what all is needed. Also this guage is missing the light. Any ideas welcome! (such as where to buy the stuff)

You should probably use the vac line on your atmospheric pressure sensor for the boost gauge. You could extend it using vac line, no harm there.
The coolant gauge needs its own sender. The 3 posts you see on the back should be mated to a wiring harness. Without that harness, your going to have to custom fab one. Assuming you know what the pinout is.

I second that using vacuum line instead of that cheap *** white plastic line will work better.
I used regular old rubber vacuum lines on my friend's turbo eclipse that I put a AutoMeter Boost gauge in.
It might be better to get an new temp gauge.
But I bet AutoMeter sells the sensor.

Are you talking about installing the actual sensor, because that runs off O2 sensor readings.
Or about mounting the gauge in the cockpit?
I have 3 gauges mounted right above my cig lighter, in a horizontal row.
Right below where my stereo will go.

I dont agree with your equation. As long as your using the AFM as a guide, not as gospel, the AFM can be a very good indicator of whats going on in your engine. No, its not 100% accurate, but mine has definately paid for itself. Its already saved me once.
