Question Guage Miscalibrated??

I have installed and reinstalled my new water temp guage. I have checked my grounds and there is no problems. But when I turn the car on the temp automaticly rises to 140 degrees on the guage, and i know the water is not THAT hot when the car has been sitting "cold" overnight. So is it possible the guage I recieved could be disfunctional or miscalibrated?

This is a stock gauge? The wire might be shorting to ground, or the sender is bad.

no it is a new aftermarket guage, not it is not a greddy or autmeter guage, it is a no name cheap guage, so is it possible the guage is bad? The sender looks good, and the ground is good.

The gauge could be bad...Did you use their sender or the stock one? You need to use the sender that came with the gauge.

ok, first i used the stock one, thought it would be easier, was then told it did not work, so i put the new sender in that was supplied, still no difference in the guage.

The SENDER came with the new gauge, right? It's not the original RX sender, right? Say YES to those two questions.

If that's so, then maybe there is a good reason for the manufacturer to leave his name off the unit.
