The GTUs: Who has one, who needs fender stickers?
Short version:
After saying "Later, later... Later..." for the longest time, I ended up in the position of being able to only buy ONE(1) OEM GTUs fender sticker. The Last one avaliable from Mazdatrix. This was a few years back.
In all truthfulness, AFAIK, I am the ONLY person left in America who has an unused GTUs sticker.
This doesnt just suck for those of you who own sticker-less GTUs's..
It ******* sucks for me.
Whats the point of one damn sticker when I might need two because of a paint refresh????
..Took waaaaayyy too long to place my order, but I digress..
LONG VERSION: The point of this thread:
Obviously I now need to make copies of this sticker.
Not just ANY copies, but actual "True-to-OEM" stickers that, HOPEFULLY, even have the textured "Dot dimple graphics" of the OEM sticker. (Those who know what I am talking about, I bet like the sound of that.)
Soooo... Im in the process of finding that one special person who can make a copy of the sticker just as I want. Obviously I want it done locally so I dont have to worry about someone stealing my damn ******* one sticker.
Im trying to keep it cheap, but Im more interested in "Total OEM style" vs cost.
Plain and simple... Are there any GTUs owners who want a new set of stickers?
Realized I better offer help to the community instead of focusing on my own needs.
I know its a long shot, what with the fact that they maybe only made a total of like, 3000 GTUs's... and theres probably less than 3000 FCs in GENERAL on the roads... But I have the offer on the table anyway.
So please let me know if this interests you. Obviously I will end up making stickers for myself, (And one other lucky person who realized the severity of this situation and sent me a random PM last year), so.. Other than us two, I dont know how much people really care to have new GTUs stickers, Hence this thread.

a sticker guy wont charge a lot for them, and once that has been made he can easily make more. You can see if he will give you the vector file when he is done- this way any decal guy can make them as well incase he goes out of business

I think at max they created 2500 or so GTUs's between 89-90.
Wasnt so much a flop as it was Mazda counting their chickens before the eggs hatched. (They effectivly pumped out a bunch of bodies expecting to put NA 20bs in them... When that idea didnt pass emmisions (Surprise.) they dumped a bunch of NA motors in them to move all the sitting inventory. Hence why Mazda offically says they never created the GTUs.)
Ok maybe thats considered a flop.
Either way, I want to show off my floppy pride and joy how it came from the factory.
I think it might be cheaper if I get a few sets made vs a case-by-case order, AND its helping others out.
I truly am interested in helping some people out, even if its just a few people, it would be very cool.

turbo ii are on eBay $20 for the whole sticker set.
I would totally corner the market for the GTUs stickers... put em on eBay I'm sure you'd get random sales from all the world.. I know I buy stuff from all over if I can't find it in US.

Yeah I also want a set of GTUs stickers. I really don't trust the local graphics shop. I feel I would end up hating them anyway and throwing them away
. So please reproduce these bad boys in white

I would be up for a set. Both red though.
GTUs is just a bit European spec in performance according to the short article in the book " RX7 Mazda's rotary engine sportscar by Brian Long. On pg. 109 paragraph 3 to pg.110.
"
Don't ask how I know a lot about GTUs. I was raised around a guru of Fc's and he had several GTUs and I bought 2 of them from him, although one is an S5 turbo now. The other is in progress in being restored after sitting 8 years in storage.

When you get a price quote, let me know, I would like a set even though mine are still perfect. I saw a gtus at a shop recently and guess what was sitting on the front seat? A brand new set of original red gtus stickers. rare indeed!

Im still keeping you all in mind. Can yall mention if you want white or red? I need to have a count of how many I should look into making of each color.
We all know life gets busy, I'm looking for freetime to make a vector image of the scanning I took. Make a test print and make sure its the right size... then I'm waiting to hear from a connection to hopefully get that local dude with the clear vinyl to make them... Still have not gotten a price quote from anyone, but Im sure once I prove I did the hard work and made a vector image ready for printing, I should get more interest from someone to help me out.
