is the GTU-S steering wheel from NA or Turbo?

i havent seen any info regarding the specifics of the steering wheel in my GTUs. the literature only states that its leather wrapped, thats all. it resembles the normal non-turbo steering wheel but mazda liked to incorporate Turbo2 parts on the GTUs... so i was just wondering if my steering wheel is a Turbo2 counterpart or just a normal non turbo wheel w/ leather

thanks
chris

It's the MOMO odd looking wheel that came on 89-91 turbo models.

well, i assume that the steering wheel on my GTUs is the same as all the other S5 non turbo's then. most stock momo wheels ive seen say MOMO on the horn button... at least the Subarus and Supras do.

Stock series 5 turbo steering wheel:

From what I understood the GTUs was supposed to have a momo wheel stock. On the 10ae's and most of the other models with MOMO wheels and ***** stock, it's worn off and you can't even see it anymore.

Was the 10th ae steering wheel by Momo? I thought only the shift *****/boots were.

So it appears it's just a leather wrapped wheel with the 10th ae logo. The S5 turbo models definitely did have them though.

The MOMO stamp in this picture is a little more clear and it is from a S5 TII. Just for, well, clarity's sake.

That looks just like my '88 GXL steering wheel. Though I never noticed whether it says "MOMO" on it. Should I check or is there an explanation? (Such as that's the way it should be or GXL wheels look like the MOMO wheels?)

The S5 n/a steering wheel was very similar in design but is not a MOMO wheel.

And to quote RR from up above:

i just looked at a pic of my steering wheel and the S5 non turbo wheel back to back... the GTUs wheel is NOT the same as the normal Non-turbo S5 steering wheel. here is my wheel

notice how the cross bars of the wheel are not horizontal across the center, they are clocked downward at about a 15* angle from the center. the lower quadrant holes from the center spoke and rim are also smaller.

guess i will be looking for an S5 turbo steering wheel then.
