CA GTU Factory Alarm Series 5

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knows how to disarm the stock alarm on a Series 5 GTU. My alarm will go off at random and I don't know how to deactivate it. I've almost gotten a noise ticket in a parking structure for my car alarm going off. I just want to deactivate it so I don't have to get up at 4 in the morning to turn it off. Any information would be appreciated.

It would probably help to note that when I do lock the doors I hear a bunch of beeps go off.

Beeps? The S5 factory alarm makes no indication of being armed other than the security light on the dash.

Do you have a siren under the hood?

I am not at work, so I can't get to all the wonderful wiring info I have there, but I'll see if I can't find the factory alarm disarm wire in the FSM. I do know it is a single wire you ground at the cpu.

No, it beeps when first activated by the door lock switch.
The console light also goes on, flashes a bunch of times (14?...something like that) then a final flash AND beep to show it's armed.

Least that's how mine works.

Weird, before my CPU bricked on me, I never had such beeping unless the keys where still in the ignition.

I'll pay attention next time I'm in the car but I'm pretty sure there's beeping.

My alarm throws the occasional **** fit but not often enough for me to explore disabling it...yet.

Well, I am off work until Thursday, so no nifty wiring info. I do know specifically that there is a disarm wire, I just don't remember the color.

By looking at the FSM though, you could disable the alarm by grounding the Brown/White wire at the CPU. There is more than one Br/W wire at the CPU so meter them out to find the correct one. The Br/W wire I am talking about is the hood pin. If this wire is grounded, the factory alarm will not arm because it thinks the hood is open all the time.

I'd also like to know.... it's super annoying. I've researched it in the past but have always seen mixed comments.

One thing that I did that really helped was take the door cards off and cleaned the contacts on the locks with electrical contact cleaner and some steel wool. the alarm is going off because you're getting false trips on the lock contacts.

you should look in the service info, but the best way is just to keep the thing from arming.

i usually unplug the hood switch, as its easy to get to, its on the latch.

plan B is just to fix it, its probably a dirty door switch.

I thought the hood switch was normally open? Even the FSM shows the hood switch as normally open.

That makes sense cause its a closed circuit system. It notices there is a break in the system and thats what trips the alarm

As I understand it, the switch is open circuit with the hood closed and goes to ground with the hood open. The FSM indicates the same, but the FSM and I could be wrong.

If I was at work, I'd be able to answer this question in 10 seconds but I am not, so I don't have access to all of the resources I have at work.
