Hmm well the noise happens whether or not the pedal is pressed.

As for the other question, the engine has been taken apart before

Taken apart before?..

hmm...

Try this: remove the inspection plate and check the flywheel for play.

(I'm thinking someone didn't torque the flywheel nut down enough.)

yeah just a heads up the car is a donor car that my uncle previously pieced together and gifted to me

( hes the super cool uncle of the family, everyones got one :P )

So im guessing something he put together wasnt properly tightened or something.

I went under the car and know for a fact the noise is coming from where the engine meets the trans. I will take a video sunday to post and confirm

That is a very good possibility. Someone who doesn't know these engines probably don't know that sucker needs to be tightened down a jillion ft. Lbs

Possibly the pilot bearing??? Since it still makes noise regardless if the clutch is pressed or not, and op says hes sure its at the engine to trans connection

so here are the vids.

Vid 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j987...ature=youtu.be

this shows how prominent the noise can be in the cabin. its like a knocking/grumble noise

Vid 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PApe...ature=youtu.be

This shows under the car, where the oil pan is and where the engine meets trans. sorry its dark but if you look closely you can see it pulse and make the same niose as vid 1

as mentioned, pull the cover off and take a look in there. almost sounds like something rubbing on the flywheel

lightly pry the flywheel away. although i doubt it is the issue. as you would have severely rough clutch engagement. but run it with the cover off. poke around in there

Don't poke around in there with the car running though.

Ok thanks!

Quick update: i actually went ahead and changed the motor mounts. This solved the issue at idle when coming to a stop with the car fully warmed up.

However during cold start idle the noise is still present. I'll go ahead and start removing that inspection plate

Is your clutch fork loose and wiggly when it's released?
