grounding sparkplugs

hey everyone, im tired of waitng for my rx7guy to come help me get my car started so im doing the ussual. i have gas because i can smell it and i think my timeing is on but how do you check for spark?

take out the plug(s) in question and get a pair of "wimpy" pliers (or anything that'll permit your holding the sparkplugs and wire boot without recieving a shock) and hold it's threads against the engine block and crank the car over...then look for spark

yes and no...

its easier with two people
but all you have to do is ground the spark plug and be able to see if its sparking....therefore you could - I dunno - tape it or something to the UIM so its visible from inside the car....

And of course make sure no fuel is coming in. U can disconect the EGI fuse
