grounding cubes

hello all,

Near the transmission bellhousing on the drivers side and on the drivers side strut tower directly under the coil are identical wiring grounds that come off the main wiring harness.

These two black wires come off the harness, run a few inches and then have wiring connectors that connect to a 6 inch black wire with a perhaps haf inch by half inch black cube that is bolted to the housing/body.

Its obvious they are for grounding.

When I test for zero resistance by touching one probe to the battery neg side or any part of the engine and the other probe to the grounding bolt on the "cube" I have zer resistance, which is good.

I unplugged the connector and removed the grounding device. I get infinite resistance testing the grounding device on its own.

Im a little puzzled- shouldnt the grounding device {the six inch black wire connected the cube end} have zero resistance ???

Perhaps im reading resistance thru or around the grounding device.

Are these cubelike grounding things supposed to have zero or infinite resistance ?

Not grounding decives. Capacitors acting as a protective device for the coil circuit and the oil pressure circuit.

There's a free download of the fsm available. See the FAQ thread for the Url's

Do NOT ground either of these circuits.
