Ground control springs...I need help!
I dont understand ****.
I bought some last week and received them today. Now the instructions I got are really wack. Anybody here put these on your car? I'd really appreciate the help, pics or a how to. I got some many parts I dont know what goes where...I searched the web but all I found was a how to for a dodge Stealth....
And its really not the same thing.
Thanks!
Oh!, and BTW, now I have REAL TEIN springs for sale with only 2000 miles on them.

Did you get the gc coilover kit with the 2.5" eibach springs? Are you reusing the stock front and rear upper mounts, or did you get camber / caster plates? What kind of struts are you using them with? I didnt know gc made just springs, but if its the kit i can snap some pics and show you how it all installs...

I'm using KYB GR-2 struts in front and KYB socks in the rear. I received (Caster?)plates for the rear with the kit also. I'm using stock top plates.
I have 8 thick O rings, 8 medium ones and 15 skinny ones, all of the same diameter.

That setups a bit different than mine, I got the older style kit with the stock rear upper mounts, and camber / caster front upper mounts so not sure if it will all be the same, but i'll post some pics when I get home. By O-rings I assume you mean the round metal spacers.
The things i can remember off hand are red threaded piece slides over the shock, then the gold adjuster spins on. Stock bump stop gets cut in half then slid over the strut shaft. Spring rests on the gold adjuster (short springs on the front, tall on the rear i believe). Then the top silver plate cups the top of the spring. That much should be the same for the front and the back. Its the upper mounting thats a little different for each.
I believe after the silver thing just comes the stock upper mount and then the nut on the top of the strut shaft, but not sure since at this point i followed the camber / caster plate instructions. This top part will sit well above the top of the spring when the strut is fully extended, but should compress and match up when the car is lowered.
I dont know how much has changed on the rear upper with the new kit but the pictures should show you how mine worked, it was (if i remember right) the silver spring perch, a thick spacer, the bottom black rubber perch, the thin spacer, the upper shock mount (stock piece), the top black rubber perch, a washer then the strut nut.

I just install the kit a few months ago, the instructions are hand drawn. Kinda confusing, but once you have the shock and the kit beside you its not that bad.
So what are you stumped on? the order of parts starting from the shock up towards the strut mount?
I can get a pic of my set-up once i get home, btw the rubber o-ring goes on your shock body, then the sleeve goes over it. I guess so it wont rattle, i only used 6 out off all of them.
If you can, scan the instruction, and take pic of the parts, i can tell you what goes where.

Just curious, what front and rear spring length's were included in the new kits? The older kits included a front 8 inch spring and basically with the stock strut tops/mounts you would get absolutely dick all ride height drop over stock(even heard of increased ride heights over stock with new gas shocks) with the perch coller adjusted all the way down.To get any kind of a drop with that kit in the front you need a 6 inch spring and either camber plates or the Racing Beat lowered strut mounts. So from what I gather you want a 6" front and 8 or 7" rear free length spring with these kits. When you add up all that is needed to make these kits work, you are better off getting a coilover kit unless you get them at a very good price.

The whole point of these kits weren't so you could bolt on an adjustable height spring and say hey I have a coilover! These kits work best if you pick a spring rate of the appropriate spring length and have your shocks revalved to match that spring rate. Otherwise, you might as well go buy a coilover.

That is exaxctly what is what i'm talking about. Get some custom revalved Koni's and use the GC kit with the proper spring rate to it's full potential, rather than bolting them on to stock Koni's or KYB's, etc. It's the setup I'm running on my car, Custom re-valved Koni double adjustables with matching ERS springs on the GC Kit. I'm addressing the fact that a lot of people out there just bolt on the GC's to their street struts and expect miracles.
I thought when you ordered from GC, you could specify spring rate/length?
Next time, try not to be as insulting.....there's no reason to be unless you want to proclaim that you are some sort of e-thug.
