Ground Control?

well, they come from ground-control and use eibach springs. they are adj. but i wouldnt recommend them if you dont like a low ride. i have them on my civic, and adj all the way up its still pretty low. you also have to keep them well maintained cause mine got full of dirt and grime **** and i can't adj anymore. i had to take off the tires to clean em thoroughly for them to adj.
you adj with a little allen wrench and turn it to bust the nut (hahah) and then spin the litte donut up or down the threaded collar to your desired height. i think its like max of 3".
the good things about these are that you can choose from any spring rate you want on the eibach springs. the unit themselves are decent quality, but you really have to take care of em. as do you all coil-overs.
if i could do it again i would have just gone with springs. because there is no way to really measure how low your lowering each side. really you can only count the threads or measure each side after adj, and it sucks.
also take into account if you like it low you will need some aftermarket shocks: kyb, tokico, koni. cause stock shocks, especially if your car is old will seize and mess up.

With Ground Control you can request different spring rates and different length springs so ride height is not a problem. (in addition to being able to raise and lower the car with the threaded collars, of course)
The springs are linear rate Eibach ERS.
The allen screw in the collar does not need to be tightened as the load of the car keeps it from turning (I was advised this by GC). If you do tighten the collar screws - I would suggest lubricating them with anti-seize.

Give them a call. I don't have their # but it's on their site. They were really helpful and talked with me for quite a while. They have all the stuff you might need too, including the coil-overs themselves, a selection of adjustable shocks to go with them, the rear camber link (which you will need when lowering) front camber/caster plates, control arm bushings, toe eliminator bushings, etc... I'll probably be doing the works to my car over the winter... that 300ZX that keeps beating me in the local region ASP class won't know what hit him....

www.ground-control.com (530) 677-8600 Ask for Tony.
www.shox.com great prices on shocks. They also carry sway bars, springs, etc.
As for what type shocks are popular - seem to be Tokico and KYB AGX. You need to decide if you want to pay a bit more for adjustable shocks. Tokico adjustables are called "Illuminas" and have 5 different settings for rebound/compression. To adjust the rear you need to remove the rear speakers for access to the top of the shock. I personally don't mind this as I have them set on 4 and like it there. The Tokico non-adj. shock is called "Standard". Their rebound/compression ratio is equivalent to Illuminas that are set on position "3" ("5" being the firmest)
If I remember correctly, the KYB AGX is 4-position adj. front and 8-position adjustable rear and I'm pretty sure the adjustment dials are readily accessible on the body of each shock.
As far as spring rates, that's up to you. Tony will tell you what spring rate/height is standard. Depends on what sort of ride you want and how you drive.
