grinding sound at half throttle???

I finally got my seven on the road today and notice a grinding/ friction noise and feeling in my throttle around 3k or 4K rpm...

One of my friends said it sounds like a exhaust leak but idk??? It feels gross!

Anyone ever hear of this problem???

My oil gauge is also reading MAX... It's at the very top of my gauge... I changed both oil lines and im wondering it maybe the bonjo bold is off set or something??? IDK!!!

Could just be a separate problem tho!!!

Thanks
-Travis

I'm not sure what you mean by a grinding in your throttle. The throttle just opens and closes; do you mean you have a vibration/grinding noise whenever you hit 3.5-4k RPM? If that's the case, determine whether it does it in neutral as well, and if it does it with the clutch in or out. And does it do it above that RPM, or only in that range?

It's not an exhaust leak, your friend should not be trusted for car advice. That will only make your car louder.

So...it's a vibration then? Describe in detail or no one will be able to guess which of the many vibration causes it is.

could possibly be the fan rubbing on the shroud when the engines torque is fighting the engine mounts. check for rubbing. The clutch fan also disengages at higher rpms.

You have to put the car up on Stands. There is a Square headed Bolt on the Side of the Trans,on the drivers' side.Take that Plug out and Fill the Trans up with the appropriate Gear Oil(I say this because people use different Types, according to what they Like,or have heard, etc).By using a Hose on the Gear oil bottle Squeeze the oil into the Filler hole and you Will Know it is Full when it starts to OOZE out of the Filler hole. Then Put the Plug back in,Tighten, and you are done.

OK...Ok... So i filled the tranni up with gear oil!!! The thing was damn near empty!

Then took her for a test drive and it still does the noise... I rolled up the windows to pinpoint it, and it is for sure coming from the trans. and it does it when in neutral and in gear!!!
It does NOT make the noise when clutch is pressed/ held in.... Could this be a clutch problem?!?!??!

I just replaced the clutch, pressure plate, and bearing..... Along with SLave/ and master!!!

What in the world?????
