Grinding in second gear
Hey guys, recently ive discovered that sometimes my 87 na doesnt like to go into second gear with the clutch pressed to the floor without a slight whine when starting to go after letting the car warm up. What could i do to fix this? Thanks in advance

Common problem on FC's. Try changing over to synthetic trans oil, either Red Line's MT 90, or their 75-90, which is what I'm using. It'll help, but it's not cheap at $8/quart.

pretty common on the S4 series trannies. Either the clutch hydrolics are worn (less likely) or syncros are getting worn (more likely).
You can try in the tranny a good snythetic oil like Redline MT90 which lessens the problem within a couple hundred miles. But if the syncro is really bad, rebuilding the tranny will be required.

You could always try double clutching until the gearbox warms up.
I just had the 5th gear synchro replaced in my gearbox, it crunched all the time... when it came out it was snapped in half! Now that it's replaced it shifts very smoothly.
