Griffin Radiator Question

Anyone ever mounted one on their car? Im looking at Griffin Radiator 1-28202-X ClassicCool 24" x 19" 2-Row Dual Pass Right Universal Import Radiator with 1" Tube

The dimensions of the radiator seems pretty good, but has anyone had first hand experience with these rads? Ive searched and come up with people who suggest them but never actually wrote any fitment info and performance of them. Any help would be awesome!

note the bottom has no tube for the heater hose.
You would also have to custom mount the Stock mounts to the rad.

Personally I would go with a Koyo N-flow.

From the examples I've seen, the Griffin is a much nicer piece but it will be more difficult to install.
The heater core return line could be dealt with in two ways: splice a fitting into the lower rad hose, or remove the water pump housing and drill/tap the bung that turbos use for water return.

Not sure exactly how I'd approach mounting it, have to see it in place first.

I used a similar Griffin radiator in my S5 Vert. Mine was cross-flow and so I looped a hose back. I brazed a 3/4" threaded bung in to the end tank for the heater return line. While I was at it I brazed in a 3/8"bung for a fan switch.

Mounting was, well, *complicated*. I worked it out but I wouldn't do it again.
It didn't cool all that great either, nothing special.

BTW I am currently using an ebay sourced CRX Racing dual-pass in my 10th Anniversary. It comes with mounting brackets attached for $165 shipped. Quality of material is very nice and it cools quite well. It is not perfect-the hose pipes are a little off in angle necessitating use of a universal flex hose plus I had to braze around the radiator neck where they *forgot* to weld it. They did give me a $35 credit for the trouble, so I was OK with it.

For me, for the money it was a cold stone bargain.

You could also get a Godspeed one off Ebay as well and not have to do as much work to make it fit.

I have a griffin combo unit in my car, and I LOVE it.
see thread here:

Fan can draw upwards of 35-38amps though. I did have to get custom mounts welded but it bolts to the stock location and I remove the engine without removing the radiator.

ALSO I added a port to retain heater core.
