GReddy V-Spec FMIC?

Is anyone using this intercooler with power steering? I have tried everything to try to make it fit but it is just not happening. It also looks like the master cylinder is going to be in my way also. Maybe I got a J-spec model, does anyone know if there is a difference? If anyone has done this could you tell me what you had to do to modify the power steering and master cylinder?

Thanks
Mike

You do have to modify the pipe that goes to the throttle body - it is designed for a right-hand drive car, and the brake master cylinder is the problem.

From everything I've heard, only minor work is required to make it fit - like shortening the pipe, or cutting the pipe and adding another coupler.

Yeah for sure.

Ian did a great job with his install, especially the IC piping around, up, down, and through the AC, PS and battery

Now its T-78 time...

Thanks Evilrotor,

I'm happy with it. You can feel the difference in the car as well as by touching the IC tubing

Ian

Looking at some TO4E now

Dale,

Sure do. But they will take a while to send. I'm only on modem

Want them

Ian

P.S Hows the emanage coming along. I want to purchase mine this spring with 4 850cc but I think the emange might only be able to support 820cc. I don't think 4 720cc will be enough.

Really?

RX7.com calculator doesn't think so. I guess I will order 4 720CC injectors then I really don't think my car will ever be close to 400hp. Never seen an RX7 that pushed that much dyno verified! I'm thinking of buy the HKS manifold and T04E with a .96 A/R ratio etc from turbonetics. Tubular manifold is supposed to be better but cost more

ya BDC put down 418 RWHP at the dyno with 4 720's. but his fuel pressure was probbaly pretty high, and his duty was at 100% which isn't good. he's got 1600 secondarys now

LOL. I just bought a 50" TV. Turbo will wait

Next spring is the emanage and fuel injectors. I could always add additional injectors too.

Thanks scott,

I will buy 4 720ccs and use my existing 550's for extra injection or my spare 680cc's.

BDC did 424.6 rwhp at 15psi! Gotta love those 1600's. He'll be the first to admit he maxed out the 720's.

There are plenty of people who have done over 400 rwhp with a 13BT. There are even more that have done it with the 13B-REW. There are only a few minor differences in the engine, but the FD guys just seem to have a bit more money than the FC guys . A reliable/solid 400rwhp car can be built (minus the initial cost of the car and engine) for around $6k. This is debatable of course.

low 300's is doable with the stock hotside and a hybrid compressor side.

If you want to go any higher, a bigger turbo is definitely needed. This requires a manifold and a wastegate (not to mention extra fuel!) as well.

Brians was on a HKS undivided cast manifold with a 60-1 hifi compressor with a .96 undivded housing with a P trim wheel I believe. This was also with a haltech, you more than likley won't be able to hit that on the e-manage through the stock MAF.

okay you guys, maybe this is a stupid question, but what cc are the stock injectors? Are the stock primaries and secondaries the same flowrate? Thanks.

yes, both are 550 CC the,FD are 550 primary and 850 sec. but you can't use their secondaries since they are side feed.

do you lose your fiberglass front bumper with that I/C? it doesn't seem to look like it would fit. I really thinking about upgrading my current Greddy I/C for this one. Let me know. My only issue is that i have a HKS manifold.
