Greddy v and R spec intercooler efficiency

I'm torn between buying a kit that *bolts* up or fabricating my own. Right now I'm using a ported stock S4 turbo, but will soon upgrade to either a T04b-60-1 or the full 60-1. The goal is around 500hp at the motor.

Spearco just sent me back a quote of $1,177.00 for core 2-182 cut down to a 10x20 core with endtanks (to fit between the rails up where the horns are). I can get 2-178 (core only) for $370 from Roadraceengineering. End tanks would be another 50 bucks or so +welding.

What kills me about the greddy kit is the lack of specs. You could have 2 intercoolers with the exact same dimensions have completely different flow rates, pressure drops and efficiency ratings. It seems really hard to justify spending 900-1300 (I assume I'd need the R spec) for a kit that I really know nothing about. I was hoping some of you guys might have some data or insight.

I was wondering which route to go also but being that i'm only looking for a reliable 325 at the crank I'm goin w/ the Greddy kit...bolts up, no frills and I can deal w the lag of the extra piping. (besides, i got a goooood deal...friends in high places). I'll be using a modified stock turbo...

What psi do you plan on making 500hp @? Most guys making that kind of power w/o water inj etc use a 3 core fmic.

The PSI will really depend on which turbo I go with. In the runnings are the GT35/40, 60-1, or a T04B-60-1. This really won't happen for about a year or two as I want to lay down the basics first...see how fast I can go on the stock turbo and then do suspension over the next winter.

I really wish I could see some charts on the greddy kits. Plus with No PS or AC, I can run the pipes right next to the radiator and shorten them up a little.
