Greddy Turbo Timer Installation???

Hey guys, I pulled an turbo timer off another rx7 2nd gen, and have not had a chance to install onto my TII, and have no clue which wire went to which. I was wandering if someone could PLEASE help me out and let me know what wire goes to which. I do have the harness by the way. Or even take a pic of how they connected it.
And yes I did try the Greddy website, but not much help there. Its more like a universal type explanation.

You don't need to, your car has a water-cooled turbo. Extending idle time is completely unnecessary.

As long as you ease it for a 2-3 miles before you shut it down... You're good.

What if I dont want to ease it for 2-3 miles? LOL! Could be because I am late to class... HAHAAHHAHAHA!

And what about that water cooled turbo? I didnt know such thing existed.

So even if I wanted to plug my turbo timer, no one wants to help me out?

Are you able to use full boost right up to when you turn the engine off? Of course not.

Just about every factory-fitted turbo made in the last 20+ years has been water-cooled. Water cooling makes turbo timers completely unnecessary, and the only people who'll tell you otherwise are people selling turbo timers.

The factory turbo for the 7 is water and oil cooled which is why they say you don't need a timer. Usually only if you go bigger and the turbo is water and oil cooled. I posted that link on the other site. Basically it is a universal type installation when you don't have the car specific plug in loom. I don't have one so I'm no help in that field.

Hey guys, I do have the harness for it. I just cant get it to work properly. I connected them they way I thought it would be. I get it to turn on and all and set the time, but when I turn the ignition off, it turns off as well.

By the way, I dont have the factory turbo. I have a 60 trim (t4) turbo. How do I know if its water cooled?

You should be able to clearly see the water lines. They'll be on the sides of the center housing, and the oil lines will be on the top and bottom.

Thanks guys for your help. I dont mean to ignore your responses at all, but I like to be on the safe side. So I would still like to connect it, and at least let it sit there for the extra 10-20 sec. Trust me, I dont have that 10-20 sec for it to cool down most times. LOL!

Get a wiring diagram from GReddy and do it right. My friend and I installed his with the harness and there were one or two wires that went to the ECU, on to the ignition, and one to the parking brake. Took all of an hour which was mostly us looking for the ECU in his Supra.

theres only one that goes to the ecu ... and thats the rpm wire.
everything else you can do else where.

One needs to go to the ebrake
Another gets grounded I think.

I had a similar problem where the TT wouldnt stay on when I shut the car off ... this happened because the ebrake wire wasnt setup.

Thats gotta be it then, because I didnt connect it to the ebrake. Supposebly that is optional. So that if someone got in your car while you left it running because of the turbo timer, and when they let down the ebrake, it would shut off.
I just didnt think that would do it? Can it? LOL!

Well, if possible can someone take a pic of how they connected their wiring harness or at least let me know what color wires in the harness match up with what color wires under the steering column? I do have the wiring harness, so I am not taping in. Well technically I am, but without slicing.

you dont HAVE to hook up ANY of the security wires to make the turbo timer function. There are two clips that hook up under the dash, around the steering column. The timer splices inbetween those. If you hooked them both up and it still doesnt work, you got the m backwards. Switch the clips around. They will fit both ways, but only work one way.

PS. I have one and realize how useless it is. basically, it's a $100 volt meter in my car.

LOL! Well I looked under the steering column once again and one of the wires that connects with the harness is spliced and taped with another wire. Its the white wire with a red stripe. Is that ok? I kinda doubt it. I see the other half of that wire too.
