Greddy sp catback on T2

I'm thinking about getting a Greddy sp exhaust system for my T2. I'm going to be putting a 3" Thunder Fabrications DP/MP soon. From what i understand, the Greddy SP isn't a 3" system. My question is, should i try to find a 3" catback system, or will the Greddy sp flow well enough for my setup. I guess i dont want to be shooting myself in the foot by buying a 3"dp/mp and then restricting it with a 2.5" catback system. Any opinions are welcome. Thanks in advance

Steve

If your after maximum power..of course a full 3" system will outflow a 2.5. I have the greddy SP system, was on my N/A , which is recieving a T2 engine/drivetrain. I will be running a CS 3-2.5" DP, into a Bonez H-F cat, and then the Greddy Cat-back. This is an awesome cat-back system..even on my N/A with a header it was very quiet...can't wait to hear what it will sound like on the turbo I attached some pics of mine..just to let you see what it looks like. The cans are big...but not too obnoxious big, they fit very nicely.

rxmnf7, you must have the older style because my SP system looks different then yours, I have had 2 sets of this exhasut and both looked like the one on my car. I love the SP system, the looks, the sound, nothing else is the same, very good exhasut system. I do agree that if you want max power going with 3 inch is better, I have a corksport 3" down pipe that mates with a 3"- 2.5 cat replacment pipe, it gradually gets smaller so the reduction isn't sudden. I haven't ran 3 inch so I don't know the difference but I'm getting good flow with this setup. I can get you a quik clip if you wanna hear the system.

I think corksport is the only place that has a 3" catback and it'll only bolt up to it's 3" DP/ MP.

other then the RB full exhuast. every other rx7 exhuast product is 2.5" at the flange. including the thunder fab DP

Actually, I think yours is the older one. Not sure though. The previous owner of my car made his own custom Y pipe and used the Greddy SP cans.

Would say on my TII, its fairly quiet. Only slightly a little louder on idle and at WOT. Getting rid of mines though to be replaced by my RB exhaust.
