all of the ones i've seen you can't, just get you a good cone and a nice CAI and you'll be set

will a CAI really make a difference compared to a regular intake kit when you have a FMIC? i figure the air will be cooled anyways when it passes through the intercooler, well...i guess a dyno would determine that

just go down to an exhaust shop and have them make you a TID and put a filter on the end of it

Think of it this way. Intake => Intercooler => Engine.

Would you rather have hot air, chilled to moderately warm air? Or Moderately warm air, chilled even more?

i think temporarily im going to have to do this:
(tell me if its possible or has been done)

turbo -> coupler -> afm -> coupler -> cone filter

until i get the hks kit... will this be ok temporarily?

if you can fit it, you can do it. keep in mind that some say that the afm should be level.

well it will be level... the turbo is vertical, and the aft/filter will be coming horizontal off of it

how long will the couple (turbo to AFM) be? having it that close to a big heat source will not be good for it.

Do you daily drive your car? The HKS element is a wet element that has gel impregnated into it. After a certain amount of heat cycles the foam will become brittle and may start to disintegrate and be sucked into your engine if you dont change it when you need to. I know people who have had to change it every 3 or so months daily driving it. Those element replacements are $20+ a pop x say 4 a year. Do the math and figure out if it's worth it to you. Of course everyone's personal experience is different this is testimony from a few people I know.

I've heard that the AFM only needs to be level in S4's. Would the fender well be a good place for the CAI? Also has anyone used the new AEM DRYFLOW synthetic filters? No oiling needed

I made one very simply. got a 90 degree peice of 3" conduit and a 2 1/2-2" coulper and a 3-3" coupler. Then i made my own custom box to surround my filter element.
