Greddy Or Apexi dual set up
Well I have been looking into the exhaust for my 88 GTU(well as soon as I can evcer get a motor) And I have been looking into the dual canister setup.
I have seen two different ones that I like and here are my likes and dislike of both of the system. But I really dont care about the loudness so that will not be put into this.
Ok first up is the Greddy Power Extreme(I think that is right) I like this system alot but I am having trouble finding one for sale. The tone quality is very nice and deep. The way most owners like it. The note is very nice at idle and sounds pleasing up til around 6k. But the system I heard started to seem very annoying around 6k. It seems to have a slight metal sound to it and at cruising speed to tone tends to make my ears fell like they want to pop. Maybe the system I heard was just worn out. Also the canisters are placed higher up and the tips are more to the bottom of the canister so the canisters would sit more like a stock system for more ground clearance. I think that it was a good idea to do so. This is also one of the reasons why I like the system more. I need the extra ground clearence around here the roads are ruff. As far as the quality of the system it was superb. this particular system was a little old but still looked fresh out of the box. Although I think that some of the preivous problems I experinced with the system are due to its age.
Now for the Apexi duals. I have seen this system alot. But to me it has that ricer look. Like 2 big ol coffee cans sitting under your car. The note of the system I heard was not very pleasent at idle. But I could not hear any metel sounding notes from this exhaust. Cruising is a joy with this setup. The sound did not want to make my ears pop at a cruising spped on the interstate. But of course the system had its flwas(well to me anyways). The system I had look at was almost brand new and the quality was not there unlike the Greddy. The welds were the pipe goes into the canister on one side had already started to crack. Also they canisters seemed to be uneven from the side view of the car. It looked like one was sitting farther back than the other. Another issue around here is the ground clearance. For me the canisters seemed to low to the ground for my liking.
Are there any other thought on the two systems and likes and dislike of the two. I am pretty sure that most answers may be biased but I would like to here any comments you can give on the two systems. Thanks for viewing.

WEll price isnt really an optio to me I am planning ahead, seeing how that is the best way to get something done though.
Although that picture make the GReddy look different than the one I saw. The one I saw the tips were closer to the bottom of the canister.
