Arrow GREAT deal on N/A, lets Boost it!!!

I just got a GREAT deal on a 91 N/A, 88k,red, black leather and auto for $250 !!!!!!!!!!
has blown rear rotor but who cares!!

Anywho the main question is i'm gonna boost it, how much Hp can a auto tranny can take?

Also i was searching and there a shift kit and improver kit from Transmission Exhange Co. how good are they?

I'm gonna be running factory hybrid 60-1 front, 3" turbo-back, npr front mount, with T2 intakes and block.

Im not a big fan of autos, but i think im gonna give it a try. If i dont like it i'll swap it to manual. The Idea of brake boosting and coming off the line @ 10 psi makes me smile :-)

Thanks

do not waste money on that auto... take it out... the stall converter is good for holding the cherry picker in one place

You should actually do a little research if you even think about trying this. It's quite a bit more difficult than you think and you should REALLY look up material on Manual vs. Auto it sounds as if you have no idea what youre talking about and if you really plan on having a "BIG TURBO MOTOR" get a better stall converter.
good luck, you will need it, but most likely you'll still be stock in a few months :-)

the shift kit is only $20, and i think the improver is $20 also. I thinks its worth it if it can hold .

i was being sarcastic because you sound like a dick. he had the simple question of "how much can the auto transmission on an FC hold up to". he doesnt know and im sure there are a buncha people here that do know so he asked.

tek 7 i dont know **** about autos but i dont think you would have a problem running a close to stock turbo setup

[QUOTE=Mint87RX7tek 7 i dont know #### about autos but i dont think you would have a problem running a close to stock turbo setup[/QUOTE]

Hybrid isn't exactly close to stock--for an automatic crappy *** tranny with a **** poor flexplate. TRUST ME ON THIS. i broke 2 flexplates on my vert before i converted it to an automatic and all i had done to my car at the time was a true dual exhaust that was unrestricted--mazdatrix. also dynoproven to gain like 30RWHP--it's not bullshit either, but that little hp difference makes auto trannies feel bad

get a TII rearend; driveshaft, diff, halfshafts, and TII tranny and THEN you'll be able to handle the power well and not break parts--that's no fun!.
but then there goes your problem of paying for a new engine, ecu wiring and all that jazz, but you gotta beef up your drivetrain--extra 500 bucks.

yes thankyou i rule.
Matt

i do know what im talking bout, and yeah u didnt answer my question. But thank to the other guys. I dont see what is so difficult about my set up.

I have all the parts to do a T2 drivetrain swap, but i thought bout boostin an auto; until it broke , then do the swap.

I really dont think a 60-1 is that big, then again i have a HKS T04R on my R2 and thats a lil bigger :-) but i think a 60-1 @ 10psi would be a good daily beater.

Well, considering the auto tranny isn't even capable of dealing with the engine originally bolted to it, I'd say you're in some trouble. If you're serious about an 'automatic' Turbo, why don't you actually spend some money and buy the automatic tranny from the turbo's in japan? They're quite a bit stronger then the N/a unit (which tends to die even with the NA power, let alone trying to brake launch that thing)

I'd like to see what could be. blast off Captain. You say you have another tranny in the wings.....what have you got to loose. That tranny beef up kit sounds good to me..Where did you say it was. Link.....

Again, I fall on the unpopular side of things.

LOL

I and my friend know how that is. We're working on a GXL right now, great engine, not too many miles, pretty good condition, and the auto tranny is SHOT. Car wont even move

I may be wayyy off on this but doesnt the automatic shift gears way before the powerband? Meaning it would never experience the full HP a 5spd would. But if you guys say stock autos crap out then you can be sure it wont hold up to your turbo I think.
