Got a question for the FMIC people

What do you guys do about the inlet to the throttle body? The stock one faces twords the firewall....I've seen a new housing on a few cars, but I've never seen any information about it. We're getting ready to install the engine in the $2005 challenge car and we're running a front mount, and I'd like to see how to get around this problem.

FC Elbow

this is not the cheapest option but has multiple advantages. heres my set up:

buy fd upper, tb and elbow (~$200)

port upper fd intake to lower fc. this includes offsetting bolt holes and matching the ports (no more than 1/8inch off or so) (~2hrs)(best option buy both FD and FC gaskests and use a marker to trace the removed area)

cut elbow and epoxy small 3inch piece of exhaust tubing in to couple with ic pipe

problems:
1) must cut/relocate oil filler (i removed an n/a (straight) and shorted it)
2) must use differnt tps (in my case a haltech) you migfht be able to use the t2?
3) oil inj. (i used the factory cruise cable from the mech. injector up to the secondary actuated tb shaft on the front of the tb)

advantages:
1) dual 50mm "straight shot" secondary tbs instead of dual 45mm "two turn" tbs
2) cleaner look (doesnt look like its missing an ic) and more room on top of engine
3) clean shot to the FMIC

good luck

justin
