do they just plug right up? (is that harness on the US spec harness somewhere, or do you have to tap it in somewhere)??

im not sure whether they just plug in or not.... ill let you know (id assume they plug because im under the assumption that all rx7 harnesses are the same)... and the price, they cost me $186 shipped from corksport, but well worth it due to how nice they look! i like that they have lights built in

There is no harness for them on A spec cars. You have to do your own wiring for it OR you could do what I did and with a little force you can fit them into the stock foglight harnesses if you have them. The only problem with this is that the foglights are rated for 55w and the ftps are rated for 5w so they may burn out prematurely. I've been running them like this for 1 month now and no problems so far.

That's only draw though. The FTPs shouldn't be drawing any more juice then their bulbs permit. I'd be more worried about the extra strain on the circuit causing a fuse to blow, but if they really are only 5w, then I don't see a problem there.

Those look nice though, sure beat my custom home-made ones by a long shot, you gotta post some before/after pics once you get them installed.

Can anybody confirm this? I'm not too keen on electrical stuff.

has anyone tried to just rig them up to a toggle? I bet that would work, of course it might be a little irritating because you'd have to switch it on separately from the regular headlamps, but at least you'd have them in.

^ That's what I have. Hooked up to my foglight harness plugs which are operated by a switch.

same as he said, i had foglights on my car before i but in my front mount intercooler, but had to take them out, so all the wiring is there.... i figured, if they werent a plug and play deal, then id just tap into my foglight wires (which is attached to a toggle in my glove box)

note... my foglights were aftermarkets, not factory

also, i will deffinently take some pictures of the before and after!

You paid $186 for something that looks basically the same as stock but with a huge 5W bulb in it...

One could always modify the USDM FTPs to have a small bulb in there. It wouldn't be hard and it wouldn't look ghetto if there was enough attention to detail given. It would cost $20 at most. They would also, as pointed out, still be functional as "Flash-to-Pass" lenses.

$0.02

Yea, just dont use h3 bulbs like i did, it looked very good, but melted the back of the ftp lense. Oh well you cant see the damage from the outside, but the bulb fell out the back.

5W is not a very hot bulb. H3s are driving light bulbs.
You'd have to make a bracket of some sort and securely fasten it to the front fascia.

Or you could just turn your headlights on with the motors unpowered/switched off

I have a set as well. Mine were used and didn't come with a harness, so I simply used a harness from a parts car and tapped into the running lights.

I'm not too worried about having functional FTPs, because mine don't function anymore anyway. I have the East Bear conversion.

I've always liked the FTPs, but unfortunately, no one here in the US moves over when you flash them. Here, they are more of FTFMO lights. (Flash to flip me off). LOL

Where'd you get your east bear conversion from. I really like that setup. I'm trying to find one.
