I used a grinding stone on a die grinder, It looked clogged up at times, but it didn't seem to affect its ability.

well my understanding is : the carbide grinders made for aluminum=spaced out/not as many cutting ridges made for steel=alot more cutting rigdes/twice as many.. drunk language.......hahahahaha but i found that u can get the spiral sandpaper raps that fit on a 1/4 inch shank... or a 10 inch long ,hahha, 1/4 inch shank with a split on one end to put 2 pieces of sand paper on... acts as a flapper for porting especiallaly deep in the mani hahaha

laughing just reading my own thoughts::

I used a carbide burr on a die grinder with a fairly light touch. It cut very quickly and left a fairly clean surface with none of the nasty trenches that a stone tends to leave as it loads up. I then polished with a series of sandpaper strips on a split wooden mandrel in my drill, starting with 120 grit and finishing with 600. It came out pretty nice!
