I got cut off twice this weekend by the same guy.

He was driving a new Maxima SE. I hear those cars have 255 HP Any way I was about to pass him @ 140 and he cuts right in front of me.


Any one kinow the top speed of these cars stock? I think he was running a bit of Nitrous.


Also my freind ran a 15.5 @ 90 with a stock 87 T2 with 180,000 miles on the engine!


I beat him by 2 car lenghts by 80 mph, I was running my little N/A.

 

180k miles? ICK!

 

If he's got the "Tornado" it might be close.

 

what do you have done to your n/a? and does he not bother with little annoyances like oil changes and spark-plug replacement?

well maybe a lil tired but still pretty fast for cheap!

 

Hey, a TII with 180 000 original miles (288 000 km's) is pretty damm impressive!!!!

 

The new maximas are fast. I test drove a 6spd manual maxima after test driving a Subaru WRX. The maxima is fast and you don't have to wait for a turbo to spool up.

 

The T2 is tight and has great compression, I do all the work on the car and I have changed the oil 3 times in the past 2 weeks and that has helped the car run better, plus I also changed every fluid in the car and a fresh set of plugs. The car is a bit slow cause it has original cats on it. The suspension is wasted and that may also cause the slow times he gets. Once he gets some money, I am going to pull the turbo and port the wastegate and finish it up with a 3.15 downpipe and straight single exhaust, maybe right out the side, its up to my freind what he wants to do with it.

Can he really get all those parts for nothing?


He told me he would bring me the primary fuel rail I am missing, next Saturday, you going also?

 

if the compression is good id guess the crappy exhaust is holding things up. the stock T2 had like 15.1 in the 1/4 i believe.... hes runnin to slow!!
